A corporate workshop was organized by the ISOBUD Company on May 22-23, 2009 for its commercial division: 20 regional company representatives in the Republic of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

In the process of the workshop, specialists of the marketing department and commercial division representatives provided the information on new strands of the company’s activity and potential sales of component parts for quickly erected buildings in Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian markets.

New ISOBUD products, which are intended to be manufactured on a new line at its Mogilev-based production site, have been presented in the course of the workshop, in particular: sandwich panels with new types of locks and thermal insulation materials of polyurethane foam (PUR and PIR) and mineral wool; polyurethane foam (PPU) thermal insulation boards with soft facing (kraft paper and foil) for roofs, facades, floor structures, etc.; and PPU boards for air ducts.

New ISOBUD products will permit to expand possibilities of applying sandwich panels in construction of industrial and civil buildings.

The market review

In 2008, the growth of the sandwich panel market in Russia amounted to 15% vs. 30% in 2007. Based on the available data on demand and supply in the sandwich panel market, the experts forecast an increase in product consumption up to 20% in the coming years (market evaluation is made without allowance for the crisis).

Sandwich panels as a product consumed by manufacturing plants and trading chains are in great demand in developed regions. According to the weighted average evaluations of the market players, about 30.5% of sandwich panel consumption account for the Central Federal District and about 15.8% for the Northwest one.

The Belarusian market of PPU sandwich panels is similar to the Russian market by consumption and trends of application in the construction industry. Sandwich panels of West European and Russian companies are represented in the Belarusian market.

Active dynamics of construction of low and medium temperature cooling chambers and storage facilities proves great demand for polyurethane foam panels in Belarus.

According to the expert evaluation, in the next 4-5 years the Ukrainian market of sandwich panels will increase up to 30% annually due to development of the construction market, in particular, retail market. The forecast of the Ukrainian market experts is based on the assumption that the domestic market of sandwich panels has great potential as it is still developing. It lags far behind the European markets and markets of other countries in terms of sandwich panel consumption per capita.

Thus, the South Korean market consumes about 100 million sq. m of sandwich panes per year, which in terms of per capita consumption is equal to about 2 sq. m, whereas in Ukraine this figure amounts to 0.4 sq. m per capita.

The main share of sandwich panels is consumed by the construction industry of the capital city as well as such large industrial regions as Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Odessa and Nikolayev regions.
The trends of development of the polyurethane foam panel market are more realistic for the PUF material to be accepted by domestic construction organizations. Notwithstanding the sufficient amount of the polystyrene foam sandwich panel supplied by both domestic and foreign suppliers, the polyurethane foam panel market is more open. This trend is related to the active presence of West European companies in the Ukrainian market and their impact on the product portfolio of suppliers of raw materials for quickly erected buildings.
The ISOBUD Company, the first Belarusian manufacturer of different modifications of polyurethane foam panels, is ready to offer and ensure supply of the quality and competitive product not only to the local market but also to external markets.
The ISOBUD product promotion program in Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian regions includes wide range of marketing and advertising actions:
• advertising and PR actions in the specialized/industrial publications of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus (sample articles are enclosed); a press conference for mass media was held in Minsk during which a new plant project and a plan of new products output, posting information on Internet resources and promotion of website www.isobud.com have been presented.
• participation in regional conferences (workshops) and arrangement of workshops for design/construction organizations.
• arrangement of negotiations with Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian construction companies.
